Baptist Memorial Hospital – Carroll County is participating in mental health awareness in the coming months. As you know, mental and behavioral health issues are prevalent throughout communities and are one of the top health issues identified by the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment.
However, these issues have only been amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic and there’s been higher rates of domestic violence, child abuse, drug overdose, and suicide across the nation. In an effort to raise awareness and shine the light on mental health, Baptist Memorial Hospital – Carroll County partnered with Canopy Children’s Solutions on Saturday, October 10, at 6:30 p.m.to Illuminate Hope on World Mental Health Day.
A lantern release at 6:30 p.m. at the hospital had been planned, but because of the dry weather, spot lights were used instead, according to Sarah Pitcher, marketing manager.
