Aggravated Assault
•Briauna Suzan Brock was charged with aggravated assault following a July 24 incident at a Huntingdon residence.
According to the report by Officer Shelton Moon, he responded to a call about an assault at 128 Barnett Street. Upon arrival, Moon spoke with Axel Rivera, who had been stabbed on the left side of his abdomen. EMS personnel came and evaluated Rivera, but he refused to be transported to the emergency room, saying that he would obtain his own medical services. Rivera told Moon that two women got in a physical altercation, and when he stepped in to try to break it up, one of the women (Brock) pulled a folding knife out of her waistband and stabbed him. While Moon was speaking with Rivera, Brock returned to the scene and told Moon that she stabbed Rivera because he was bigger than her. Brock was transported to the Carroll County Jail for booking.
Vehicle Theft
•Authorities are looking for a suspect in relation to the recent theft of a vehicle from private property in Huntingdon.
According to the report by Officer Christopher Cole, he responded to a call about a break-in and theft at 22150 East Main Street and spoke with Sondra Melton and James Melton. They said that someone had broken into the shop and had stolen a 1968 Pontiac GTO valued at $60,000. In investigating the scene, Cole found evidence that someone came across the ditch from Mustang Drive, disabled security cameras, broke into the shop, and then rammed the gate open with the stolen vehicle. Ms. Melton said that she had last seen the vehicle at around 7:30 p.m., and then someone called her about the broken gate at around 11:45 p.m. Officers received several leads, including one that the vehicle had been seen in Arkansas. The HPD also received an image of a man positively identified as Stanley Tucker putting gas into the vehicle at the North 40 Truck Stop near Sugartree.
Theft
•Autumn S. Zang and Holy Smothers were changed with theft of property under $1,000 on July 27 for allegedly trying to steal items from a local department store.
According to the report by Officer Jackie Allen, she responded to Walmart after receiving a call about a theft. Upon arrival, Allen made contact with Zang and Smothers, who allegedly tried to take $59.03 in items by not ringing them up. Allen noted that Zang and Smothers did not make it out of the store with any of the items.
