IRS to launch “Get My Payment” web app to assist with Stimulus Checks

Sometime next week, the “Get My Payment” web app will be available on www.irs.gov, according to a release
from the U.S. Department of Treasury and the IRS. The web application will be free and does not need to be
downloaded from the App Store.
For people who filed taxes in 2018 or 2019, but did not provide their banking information, this app will give you
the opportunity to provide banking information in order to get your stimulus checks direct deposited instead of
waiting on a check by mail. It will also allow you to confirm your payment type, change mailing address if needed
and check the status of your stimulus check. To check the status, you will need to enter your social security number,
date of birth and your mailing address. If you don’t file taxes but still want to apply for a stimulus check, this app
will not work and you would need to go to the IRS website and search for a non-filers application.
