1,229 county children enrolled in Dolly’s Imagination Library

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce announces that Carroll County is among the leaders in the state for enrollment in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.  Carroll County currently has 80.4% of children under five years of age registered to receive books from the Governor’s Books from Birth program, a figure which is 11% above the state average.  Out of 1,528 Carroll County children who qualify for the program, 1,229 are enrolled.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book-gifting program that provides books free of charge each month to children from birth to five years of age.  Through a partnership between Carroll County Government, the United Way, the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, this program is available to Carroll County children.

You can sign your child up in two ways.  You can register online on the Imagination Library website at www.governorsfoundation.org or you may call the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce office at 731-986-4664.  Books begin arriving eight to ten weeks after enrolling and are mailed directly to the child’s home.
